Behind the event, not on the stage.

DER Associates Ltd works on the organisational side of things — how an organisation is run, how a production is supported, how an activity is put on. We are not performers, not agents and not coaches.

Who we are

Three activities, one kind of work.

Advising an organisation, supporting a production and putting on a sporting activity look unrelated, and in one way they are. In another they are the same job: working out who is responsible for what, what has to happen in which order, and what goes wrong if nobody has thought about it.

Management consultancy. Management consultancy activities other than financial management. (SIC 70229)
Performing arts support. Support activities to performing arts. (SIC 90020)
Sports activities. Other sports activities. (SIC 93199)
Not an agency. We do not represent performers or find anybody work. (See our Terms)
What we do

What we do

Operating Models & Process

How work is organised, who decides what, and where effort actually goes. (SIC 70229)

Written Procedures

Writing down how something runs so it survives the person who knows it.

Production Support

Coordination, scheduling and logistics behind a production - the organisational side. (SIC 90020)

Venue & Supplier Liaison

Dealing with venues, suppliers and timetables so the people on stage do not have to.

Sports Activity Organisation

Organising and running sporting activities and sessions for adults. (SIC 93199)

Risk Assessments

Written risk assessments for activities and events, and what to do when something happens.

How we work

Understand, plan, run, review

Four steps, with responsibilities written down before anything is committed to.

1 · Understand

What is actually happening now, and who currently decides what.

2 · Plan

A plan with named responsibilities, a running order and the things that could go wrong.

3 · Run

The work itself, whether that is a change, a production run or an activity.

4 · Review

What actually happened, written down while people still remember it.
